Program for System Admission (PSA)

Good morning Anchor Islanders!

It’s hard to believe, but we are already looking towards the Spring 2021 semester.  TAMU-CC anticipates posting the course schedule online on Monday, October 12 and opening registration on Monday, October 26.

Due to the health and safety measures already in place, Anchor program advisors will be meeting with students virtually.  All advising appointments will take place via WebEx or phone appointments.  Anchor program advisors will not be holding walk-in hours.  You can schedule an appointment through the Anchor online appointment scheduler, TimeTap (https://tamuccadvising_anchor.timetap.com/).  Please don’t wait until the last minute to book your appointments because your Anchor program advisor’s time slots will fill quickly!

This is an extremely busy time of year for the Anchor program advisors and their schedules will be booked with appointments back to back; they will not be able to fit students in on an emergency basis.  Please plan ahead.  One of the ways you can do this is by reviewing the helpful videos on the link below:

We look forward to helping you plan your next semester with us on the Island!

To be a PSA student at A&M-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC), you must:

  1. Accept the PSA offer in AIS.
  2. Select A&M-Corpus Christi from the list of available system schools. If TAMU-CC is not listed as a choice, then you did not meet our regular freshman admissions requirements and cannot come here as a PSA student.
  3. Submit the offer by May 1st.

College Station will send your application to TAMU-CC. You DO NOT have to apply here on your own. If you did apply here on your own before you were offered PSA, you will still have to follow the steps above if you want to be a PSA student at TAMU-CC.

For questions about your admission status, contact admissions at (361) 825-2624 or go here.

What is the PSA program?

The Program for System Admission (PSA) is an alternative admission program for selected students not offered freshman admission to Texas A&M University. PSA provides students the opportunity to attend a Texas A&M University system institution with the goal of enrolling at Texas A&M in College Station after one year.

Is the PSA program right for you? At first glance you might say yes, but there are things to consider.

  1. What do you want to major in at College Station? Is this major offered through the PSA program? Review Question 1 below.
  2. Does your PSA plan list MATH 1324 and 1325 or MATH 2413 and 2414 in the Required Coursework? If so, do you meet the TAMU-CC prerequisites for these classes? If not, can you get them this summer? Review Questions 3-5 below.
  3. Do you have a lot of Dual or AP Credit that will count on your PSA plan? You must take at least 24 hours at TAMU-CC regardless of how much Dual or AP Credit you have. Can you get 24 hours at TAMU-CC that will count on your PSA plan? If not, are you willing to take classes that may not count toward your plan? Review Questions 8-14 below.

You must attend Islander Launch (orientation) to register for fall classes.
What can you expect at Orientation?
