Joshua Hamiltois a Louisville, KY native who migrated to Corpus Christi, TX with his family.  Between Kentucky and Texas, he has traveled and lived in several places, including Spain, Appalachia, Panamá, Peru, the Philippines, and the Colorado River.  Besides teaching First-Year Seminar and Spanish at TAMUCC, he has published a poetry chapbook, Slow Wind, with Finishing Line Press, has poems forthcoming in various journals, and studies Contemporary Spanish Poetry.  Dr. Hamilton earned a BA in English & Humanities and an MA in Spanish from the University of Louisville, and received his Ph.D. in Spanish from Indiana University.  His research interests include Spanish avant-garde poetry, visual poetry, intersections with/resistance to consumer capitalism in Spanish poetry, and mass media as a presence in neo-avant-garde Spanish poetry.
